Duke is a resilient and loving pit bull who is in a sad situation. His family, active duty military, received orders to relocate outside the continental U.S. and are now required to live on base—where pit bulls are sadly a prohibited breed. With deep sorrow, they reached out to us to help find Duke a safe, loving home where he can thrive.
Duke has experienced trauma in his past, and while he may appear guarded at first, it’s simply fear. Once he feels safe, his true personality shines—loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. He’s a dog who loves deeply and protects fiercely.
Duke needs a patient, understanding adopter who can give him the time and space to feel safe. He would do best in a calm environment with someone who appreciates the journey of building trust. Once he knows he’s home, Duke will give his whole heart in return.
Duke is more than a pet—he’s a companion, a protector, and a snuggler. He’s looking for someone who will never give up on him, someone who sees the beauty in his journey and the joy in his loyalty.
